People have been talking for a while about how Facebook and Twitter are slowly becoming the comment engines for blogs.

Bloggers write great posts, they put a link on a social network, and the conversation happens on Twitter instead of in the comments of the blog.  That’s fine if you’re Mashable or Techcrunch, but what about the writers that get under a thousand readers per month?

Here’s my challenge to you.

Leave comments on the blogs that you read.  If the post was interesting enough to read all the way through, isn’t it worth a short comment?  It actually helps you to leave a comment, because if someone likes what you wrote they could very well click through to your site.

Here’s the most important thing.

Great discussion makes blogs come alive.  It makes the blogger feel amazing.  It enriches the blog-o-sphere and adds a lot of excitement.

Here’s what I want you to do.

Leave 2 comments every day.  They don’t have to be super-long.  It doesn’t have to take a ton of time.  Just take a few extra moments out of your busy day to recognize the bloggers who are putting their time in day in and day out.
