As you might know, LinkedIn (the social networking site for business) went public back in May of this year. I have to say, I’m really impressed with the improvements they’ve made to the site since that time. Here a few highlights.
Speed
LinkedIn is faster and more responsive than ever. When it comes to a social networking site, there is almost no metric that is more critical than speed (actually that could apply to any site really). LinkedIn is definitely faster than it used to be.
Home Page Design
They’ve added news articles to the home page which I think is pretty cool. Also the home page has evolved quite nicely over the years to become a really great dashboard for what is happening in your business network.
Clean Design
There have been times since I started using LinkedIn that I really thought it was not a very well-designed site. They have done a great job cleaning up the design and creating an experience that is more useful to the user.
Completeness of Profiles
I went in recently to check to make sure that my profile was up to date, I noticed that there were lots of things that I could add. I hadn’t really checked up on my profile in about 2 years (shame on me).
What do you think? Is LinkedIn on the right track?
