I'm about a year behind on Twitter

Did I miss the boat? I’m an early adopter. There’s really no use for me to get involved if all the other early adopters are already on board. I’m a pioneer, an explorer, a wild child of destiny! I need a little stimulation in my life, not just the status quo.

Okay seriously, I started using twitter a few months ago and it’s really a lot of fun, but I really am way behind the curve. Don’t use Tweetdeck or any of the other twitter tools that seem to quantify the twitter experience. I have gotten a lot of mileage out of Julia Roy’s blog. Each week she highlights all the hippest stuff happening on Twitter, the raddest applications, best tweets, etc.

In a few weeks I have to give a seminar on social media, and I need some twitter input. I’m supposed to be the expert, but in many ways I’m still a novice. Anyone have any advice?
